Traffic jam due to protest near Deans Road

Severe traffic congestion has been reported near Deans Road in Colombo and nearby roads due to a demonstration staged by minor staff of state hospitals in protest against the government’s failure to clear salary anomalies as agreed.

Joint Trade Union Committee convener, T.M. Somaratne, said the minor staff resorted to strike as so far no action has been taken to resolve the matter.
