Police today said that a special investigation has been launched regarding the counterfeit postage stamps found in more than 500 envelops at the Nittambuwa post office.

Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the Gampaha special criminal investigations unit is handling investigations.

After being notified by the Nittambuwa postmaster, police seized 513 envelops with 3 fake stamps of Rs 15 pasted on each of them.
