President vows actions against those who misused state resources

Those who misused state resources will be brought before the law irrespective of party, President Maithripala Sirisena says.


The President made the observation while addressing the Parliament during the first sitting of the Eighth Parliament this afternoon (1).


“A higher priority must be given in our bid to form the National Government. This would create a new political culture. We work together as a family so the establishment of the National Government would address the issues faced by the nation,” President Sirisena asserted. 


He also appealed the newly elected Parliamentarians to join hands to build the new political culture in which it would take the national security as the number one priority.


“As the President, I take national security as the first responsibility of the government.” he said.


The President went into say that irrespective of party or position, strict actions will be taken against those who misused state resources as well.
