Woman dies after earth mound collapses on home

A woman was killed after an earth embankment collapsed on her house in the Indigahawatta area in Pelenwatta, Piliyandala.

The 67-year-old woman was rushed to the Homagama Hospital in critical condition, however she had succumbed to injuries before admission.

The body has been placed at the hospital’s mortuary while the post mortem examination is to be conducted today.
