Petition urges authorities to ensure the safety of soldiers

A campaign has been launched since this morning (08) in a bid to get one million signatures for a petition which urges the authorities to ensure the safety of soldiers and war heroes.


Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the first to sign the petition, Ada Derana reporter said.


The campaign was launched at the Sri Sambuddhaloka Vihara in Colombo.


Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, former Foreign Minister and MP G.L. Peiris, MP Geetha Kumarasinghe and several other politicians also attended the event.
