Special traffic plan for May Day celebrations

A special traffic plan will be implemented in and around the areas where May Day parades and rallies will be held tomorrow (May 01) between 9.00am and 5.00pm, police said. 

Pradeepa Mawatha in  Maligawatta will be closed for traffic during that period from Jumma Masjid Junction to Sangaraja Roundabout.

Baseline Road will be closed from Dematagoda Junction to Borella Junction and Narahenpita Junction to High Level Road from 1.00 to 6.00pm.

High Level Road near Havelock Road and Dickman’s Road also expected to be closed between 2.00-6.00pm.

Saranankara Road will be closed from 1.00pm to 4.00pm tomorrow while several other roads in the proximity of May Day rallies will also be closed for traffic. 

Meanwhile parking vehicles will not be allowed along several roads in Colombo and Nugegoda from midnight today, police said. 

Buses plying 138, 120, 125, 154, 170 and 190 routes will be diverted along different roads.
