Overwhelming response for Manusath Derana flood relief campaign

Manusath Derana wishes to thank the public who contributed immensely with lunch parcels, dry rations, water bottles, medicine and other flood relief items, in this hour of need. 

Over 500,000 lunch parcels were received at Manusath Derana collection centers within just few hours since 6.30am today and they have been dispatched to relevant flood-affected areas. 

Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) dispatched a helicopter to distribute the food parcels collected through Manusath Derana from public. Several buses, lorries and vans were also loaded with relief items and sent to flood victims.  

Many people flocked to the TV Derana head office at T B Jayah Mawatha, Colombo 10 brining in vehicle loads of lunch packets dry rations bottled water and medicinal items showing an overwhelming sense of comradeship and humanity. 

Our team collected food parcels food at the Colombo Fort Railway Station, Maradana Railway Station, Secretariat Office Station Colombo, Bambalapitiya Railway Station, Gunasinghepura Bus Stand in Fort and Fort Main Bus Stand. 

Hundreds of thousands of parcels were received at those locations making the Manusath Derana flood relief campaign a massive success. 

Manusath Derana also wishes to thank the Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Police and the Railway Department for the tremendous assistance to dispatch relief to flood victims.
