Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to further strengthen trade relations

President Maithripala Sirisena has held bilateral discussions with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina at the Hilton Nagoya Hotel in Japan.

 
During the meeting two countries agreed to further strengthen the trade relations and came into an agreement to maintain the export and import of garments from both countries under a stable pricing method.

 
The discussions were also held on strengthening the cooperation in investments between two countries.

 
A special attention was also drawn on the agreement signed by Sri Lanka with Bangladesh to purchase high quality drugs, by the President as the Minister of Health then. Implementation of a more favorable system to exchange drugs under concessionary prices were also among discussions.

 
Mihin Lanka flight frequencies were also discussed to be increased.
 

The President as an environment lover extended his best wishes to Bangladesh Prime Minister for receiving the highest environmental accolade Champions of the Earth award of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
