The re-appointment of the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has been avoided amid investigations against him under directives from the President, Minister Patali Ranawaka asserted.
He added that this demonstrates the changes expected by the people from the Yahapalana Government.
“There were allegations against former CBSL Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal. Did Mahinda listen to them?” he questioned.
Meanwhile, Minister P. Harrison has said the freedom of speech has been restored under the rule of Yahapalana Government.
“This was something we did not experience with the last regime,” Harrison added.
