Range Bandara’s son released on bail

State Minister Palitha Range Bandara’s son Yashoda Niranjan and another suspect arrested over yesterday’s fatal accident in Anamaduwa, have been granted bail by the court. 

Each of the suspects were ordered released on a cash bail of Rs 15,000 and two personal bails of Rs 100,000 each after being produced before Anamaduwa Magistrate Janani S. Wijestunga on Tuesday (25). 

Gamini Wanninayake, 42, was killed on the spot after an SUV collided with a bicycle on the Anamaduwa-Kurunegla Road last evening (24). 

Yashoda Niranjan Range Bandara and D.M. Nilantha Pradeep Ranatunga were arrested last night by Anamaduwa Police in connection with the accident while the latter had admitted to driving the vehicle at the time. 

The case has been postponed till December 05 by the Anamaduwa Magistrate’s Court.
