Three Indian fishermen nabbed with 2kg of heroin

Three Indian fishermen have been arrested along with 2 kilograms of heroin in the sea area off Arippu in Silawathura, Mannar. 

The suspects were arrested by Sri Lanka Navy personnel at around 5.00am this morning (27) while they have been handed over to the Navy camp in Mullikulama for onward action, navy media spokesperson Captain Akram Alawi said.

The Indian fishermen were smuggling the heroin into Sri Lanka via sea route when they were apprehended.
