A proposal has been handed over to all the Provincial Councils against the enactment of the Urban Development Authority (UDA) to decentralize some of the powers of the Local Government bodies, Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya says.

The Chief Minister said that due to decentralization, the LG bodies have missed the authority to approve plans.

“The UDA still have time to change its stance, or we will start to act according to the terms of our proposal,” he said.
