Police officers to be deployed near girls’ schools in Colombo

Sri Lanka Police has decided to deploy teams of police officers – uniformed and in civilian clothing – near girls’ schools in and around Colombo city.

Police spokesman DIG Priyantha Jayakody stated that a full-scale investigation with regard to several schoolboys, from a leading school in Colpetty, unlawfully entering a girls’ school in Borella, behaving in an unruly manner and assaulting an employee of the said school. 

He stated that stern action will be taken against students who behave in an unruly manner on the streets due to school big match season.
