Joint Opposition to approach President regarding Weerawansa

Members of the Joint Opposition Party have decided to formally inform the president and the Prime Minister that Member of Parliament, Wimal Weerawansa had engaged in a hunger strike. 

Former President, Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that a request has been made by members of the Joint opposition party to hold discussions with the President and the Prime minister. 

He further added that the hunger strike Weerawansa has engaged in, is not being carried out as an attempt to be released on bail.
