Case against Hirunika Premachandra postponed

April 26, 2017   04:57 pm

In the absence of first accused in the case against MP Hirunika Premachandra  over an abduction incident in Dematagoda, the Colombo High Court Wednesday postponed its hearing until November 06, Ada Derana reporter said.

The case was postponed after a Counsel informed HC Judge R. Gurusinghe that his client could not appear before the Court since the accused has been admitted to the Colombo National hospital.

All the defendants in the case except the first accused were presented at the Court, Ada Derana reporter added.

In December 2016, a 35-year-old man was abducted in the Baseline Road area in Dematagoda and assaulted by a group of individuals who had arrived in a Land Rover Defender which is reportedly owned by the MP.
