Special transport service for May Day

Two trains have been booked for the convenience of persons travelling to attend May Day rallies tomorrow (01), it was reported.


The Department of Railways says two trains have been booked by the SLFP and the UNP. Accordingly, a train has been allocated to travel from Kurunegala to Maradana and back to Kurunegala while the other train will travel from Fort to Kandy and back to Maradana.


A total of 4,000 Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses have also been reserved to transport supporters of political parties, it was reported.


Meanwhile, buses will also be allowed to travel along expressways toll free on May 1 in view of the May Day.
