Many roads in Colombo blocked due to extreme weather

A number of roads in and around Colombo have been blocked for traffic due to the extreme weather conditions. 

Roads near the Telecom building near Colombo Fort, fire station on Darley Road, Tractor cooperation junction in Pettah and Bullers Lane behind BMICH have all been blocked due to fallen trees obstructing the road. 

Police have urged the public to use alternative routes as much as possible.
