President leaves for Australia

President Maithripala Sirisena will be leaving for Australia tomorrow (23) on an official visit.
The President’s Media Division stated that he would be paying this visit to Australia as per the invitation of the Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull.
President Sirisena will be in Australia for a span of three days, during which he will be meeting with PM Turnbull and other high ranking officials.
The meeting between Australian PM Turnbull and President Sirisena is scheduled to be held in Canberra on the 25.
The President will also be meeting with the Australian Minister of Immigration and Emigration, Peter Dutton and Australian Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop on the same day (25).
According to sources, the President and his delegation will be arriving in Sydney on the 26 where he will take part in an encounter with the Sri Lankan business community residing in Australia, after which he is scheduled to attend a meeting with Senator Marise Payne, the Minister of Defense in Australia.
1.05 pm - The President departed from the Bandaranaike International Airport a short while ago today (23), in an aircraft bearing the number UL 308.
