Piliyandala shooting: suspects remanded

The three individuals arrested in connection with the recent shooting in Piliyandala have been remanded till the 05 of June, after being produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court today (22).

The three were arrested in connection with the shooting in Piliyandala during a drug raid conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau, where a police officer and small child were shot dead, leaving two more police officers and a civilian injured.

The arestees, a 44-year-old woman and two youths in their early twenties who are said to be residents of Ahangama, were arrested in Ahangama yesterday (21) on charges of aiding and abetting, tampering with evidence, providing false information and sheltering the suspect.
