AG calls for probe into Shashi’s missing passport and NIC

The Attorney General has requested the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court to investigate the disappearance of Shashi Weerawansa’s passport and national identity card (NIC) from the court’s impound. 

The request was made by Deputy Solicitor General Dilip Peiris, appearing on behalf of the Attorney General, Ada Derana reporter said. 

The passport and identify card belonging to MP Wimal Weerawansa’s wife Shashi Weerawansa, who is charged with providing false document to obtain a diplomatic passport, were impounded by the court and handed over to the court registrar.
