Parliament to be adjourned at 2pm

Party leaders have decided to suspend Parliament proceedings at 2.00pm today, considering the prevailing disaster situation owing to inclement weather.

Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala informed the parliament of the decision as proceedings commenced following the special party leaders’ meeting held today (26).

The sudden party leaders’ meeting was called to discuss the disaster situation due to the heavy rainfall experienced in several parts of the country.
