China to send humanitarian relief worth USD 2.2 mil to help flood victims

The government of China has announced that they are prepared to send humanitarian relief worth USD 2.2 million to Sri Lanka, as a gesture of goodwill to help those affected by the floods and landslides in Sri Lanka.

The Chinese government also assures that they are most willing to provide support and aid to Sri Lanka in any way they can, whenever their help is needed.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang had also sent condolence messages to Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe respectively on the tragic loss of life and property following the heavy rains that led to severe floods and landslides recently.


On behalf of the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese leaders extended sympathy and condolences to the Leaders, Government and people of Sri Lanka.
