Landslide warning for 7 districts remains in effect

With the prevailing weather condition is expected to continue, the National Building Research Organisation says that landslide warning issued for seven districts continues to remain in effect.
Accordingly, landslide warning will persist for Ratnapura, Matara, Kegalle, Galle, Kalutara, Hambantota and Nuwara Eliya districts.
According to the Disaster Management Center, the death toll from the devastating floods and landslides has risen to 164 with 104 people still missing.
Over 400,000 people were affected by the severe rains and strong winds and over 100,000 people were relocated to 304 safe locations set up across the country.
Following administrative divisions have been considered as locations which are at risk:
Rathnapura: Elapatha, Pelmadulla, Kuruwita, Ehaliyagoda, Kiriella, Imbulpe, Ayapama, Kahawatta, Kalawana, Kolonna and Nivithigala divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas.
Kegalle: Bulathkohupitiya, Deraniyagala, Yatiyantota and Dehiowita divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas.
Galle: Baddegama, Yakkalamulla, Neluwa, Thawalama, Niyagama and Nagoda divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas.
Kalutara: Bulathsinhala, Agalawatta, Walaliawita and Baduraliya divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas.
Matara: Kotapola, Pasgoda, Pitabeddara and Mulatiyana divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas.
Hambantota: Walasmulla and Katuwana divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas.
Nuwara-Eliya: Ambagamuwa Koralc divisional secretariat division and surrounding areas.
