Two arrested for possession of forged documents and Police equipment

Two individuals have been arrested in Mulleriyawa over the possession of several forged documents, a Police Officer’s uniform and a pair of handcuffs belonging to the Department of Prisons.

Police Headquarters reported that the arrest had been made based on a tip received by the Mulleriyawa Police, whilst the two suspects were traveling in a three wheeler.

Upon searching the three wheeler, the Police had retrieved a forged license plate, forged certificate of insurance, forged revenue license, a Police Officer’s uniform, two Prison Guard caps, and a pair of handcuffs belonging to the Department of Prisons.

The suspects are said to be residents of Angoda, aged thirty-four and forty years.

The arrestees are due to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court today (19).

Meanwhile, Mulleriyawa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
