Court allows to hold protest without obstructing traffic

The Fort Magistrate has issued an order stating that scheduled anti-SAITAM protest today should be held without creating unnecessary public nuisance and without obstructing the traffic.


The order has been issued following a request made by the police, Ada Derana reporter said. The university students were also banned from forcefully entering into the premises of the Presidential Secretariat Office, reporter added.


Several student unions including the Inter University Students Federation will attend the protest which is scheduled to be commenced in a short while. 


Update: Heave traffic reported around Townhall due to the protest march of university students. The police advised motorists to use alternative routes.
