Man dies after stabbing in Rakwana; suspect’s house torched

A person has been stabbed and murdered with a sharp object in the Kohombakanda area in Rakwana.
Police said that the murder is believed to have been carried out over a personal dispute.
The victim, a 53 year old from Rakwana, succumbed to critical injuries while being transferred from the Kahawatta Hospital to the Ratnapura Hospital.
The suspect believed to have committed the murder has fled the area while Rakwana Polcie is conducting investigations to apprehend him.
Angered by the incident, a group of residents in the area had torched the suspect’s house.
