Postal strike continues

The Joint Postal Trade Unions’ Front announced that the strike which commenced on Monday (26) will be continued today (28).

Co-convener of the Joint Postal Trade Unions’ Front, H. K. Kariyawasam stated that over 653 main post offices and over 3400 sub post offices across the island had successfully launched the strike.

The strike was organized seeking the fulfillment of three primary requests, including the retraction of the decision made by the Government to establish tourist hotels in place of post offices in Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and Galle Fort.
