Parliamentarian Dinesh Gunawardena stated that the Joint Opposition (JO) had not yet made a decision as to whether or not they would leave the Constitutional Assembly.

He explained that the JO was amidst discussions as part of the decision-making process.

The parliamentarian added that the JO would continue to serve on the Constitutional Assembly and the operation committee until a final decision was made.

Meanwhile. Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera declared that no parliamentarian was allowed to leave the Constitutional Assembly.

To leave the Constitutional Assembly, one must also vacate his/her parliamentarian seat, he said.
