Chief Minister of the Western Province Isura Devapriya says that it would take at least the next three years to resolve the country’s garbage and dengue problems.

He stated that the government is currently implementing the necessary projects and that these challenges need to be faced within that time period.

Meanwhile the Western Province Waste Management Authority says that a project has been launched in order to transform the area of the Meethotamulla garbage dump into a place which can be utilized by the people in the area.

Director of the authority Nalin Mannapperuma said that the World Bank has provided the relevant funds necessary for the project.
