Streamlining legal aid among topics discussed at POLA

The Presidents of Law Associastions in Asia (POLA)  will commence the second phase of their summit today (23). 

The summit which began yesterday (22), will be held over a three-day period.
 
Chairman of the sessions, Attorney of Law Sunil Abeyratne, stated that they would focus on various fields of work under the 7th session at the conference.
 
Discussions will include how governments exert pressure on lawmakers and judges and how they act independently against such pressures. 

Furthermore topics such as how members of the bar association will conduct the technology summit, streamlining legal aid and securing and ensuring confidentiality between lawyers and clients will be discussed at the summit as well. 

Abeyratne further added that lawyers representing Sri Lanka will speak on why countries should invest in Sri Lanka.
