The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has condemned the shooting of the vehicle targeting Jaffna High Court judge M. Illanchelian.

Speaking at a media briefing, media spokesperson of the TNA, MP M. A. Sumanthiran stated that measures should be taken to reveal the reasons behind the shooting.

Sumanthiran added that although incidents of this nature have happened in the past in the Jaffna peninsula, the shooting had made the situation much worse and that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), should taken stern action regarding the matter.

He further stated that the support of all parties is required if the judicial process is to be carried out successfully.
