Kerawalapitiya Power Plant functions restored back to normal

The generator of the Kerawalapitiya Power Plant which sustained a technical malfunction yesterday (24) has been restored to its normal functions.

Media Spokesperson of the Ministry of Power and Energy, Sulakshana Jayawardana stated that the relevant machine’s malfunctioning had resulted in power deprivation to several regions last night (24).

Jayawardana added that the power generation for day-to-day use had sustained a setback as a generator of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant was also currently out of order.
