The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has granted consent to all licensed banks to grant concessions to all persons who have obtained loans who were affected by the recent floods and any connected adverse circumstances.

Accordingly, licensed banks are free to grant a concessionary period of up to 3 months in respect of repayment of all performing credit facilities of such borrowers as at 25th May 2017, and waive the penal interest for this period.

The CBSL has granted these concessions to help enhance the recommencement of businesses and normalization of activities of all flood-victims
