Deputy Minister of Foreign employment Manusha Nanayakkara has stated that the government is taking steps to curtail the number of women seeking foreign employment as domestic workers.

Speaking to the media at a gathering in Ampara, he pointed out that approximately 150 Sri Lankan women who left to the Gulf region have been imprisoned by their respective states.

The Deputy Minister stated that a course of action will be implemented to free the workers and provide them with employment in Sri Lanka.
