Parliament Road has been closed for traffic from Parliament Roundabout due to a protest, Ada Derana reporter said.
Severe traffic congestion has been reported in the area due to the road closure and the protest.
The protest has been organised by the National Freedom Front (NFF) led by MP Wimal Weerawansa and with the participation of several other political parties and organisations.
The protesters are demanding that the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance Bill be completely removed from the Parliament agenda.
Following objections raised by the Joint Opposition, the government this week announced that the bill will not be taken up for debate on September 21.
