BASL submits documents to CJ over Ranjan’s allegations

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) had submitted documents to the Chief Justice today(23), requesting to take appropriate legal actions over Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake’s allegations against the judiciary, stated BASL President U.R.De Silva.

The BASL alleges that the Deputy Minister vehemently insulted the reputation of the judiciary and lawyers at a press conference held on August 21.

Meanwhile,Ven. Magalkande Sudantha Thera of Bodu Bala Sena Organization (BBS) on August 23, made a complaint to Supreme Court  on seeking a contempt of court action against Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake for allegedly making an insulting attack on the reputation of the judiciary and lawyers at the press conference.
