Members of the Joint Opposition (JO) stated that the JO will collaborate with the SLFP only if all the SLFP party members with posts in the government resign from their ministerial portfolios prior to the upcoming election.

MP Sisira Jayakody stated that the JO will not join with the SLFP for the upcoming LG polls if the SLFP party members with posts in the government do not comply with the demands made by the JO.

He made these statements while responding to a question raise by a journalist during a press conference in Gampaha today (19).

Meanwhile MP Kumara Welgama stated that the JO has no need to join with the SLFP to successfully contest at the LG elections.
