Two arrested with illegal arms

Two persons were arrested in Meetiyagoda over illegal arms possession yesterday (19).
The arrest was made following a tip-off received by the Special Task Force (STF), Police Media Spokesman’s Office said.
Two live grenades, two locally made firearms and four bullets were seized along with the suspects.
The suspects aged 31, and 32 have been identified as residents of Meetiyagoda.
They will be produced before Balapitiya Magistrate today (20).
Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by Meetiyagoda Police.
