Joint Opposition prepares to contest polls separately

December 7, 2017   11:45 am

The Joint Opposition has decided to not join forces with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and contest the forthcoming Local Government polls, unless the SLFP leaves the government.

The decision was reached during the crucial talks held yesterday (7) between party leaders and representatives of the Joint Opposition, under the leadership of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Therefore the Joint Opposition has decided to contest the upcoming election under the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
