Bodies of mother and daughter found with stab wounds

The bodies of a mother and daughter with stab wounds have been found in a home at Welikanna in Hanwella, police said. 

Rupasinghe Arachchige Mary Rani, 68, and her daughter, Senarath Liyanage Lakmini Shriyakanti, 38, were found dead inside their home.

After reaching the crime scene, police found a four-month-old infant inside the house while the baby was hospitalised.

Police suspect that the daughter’s husband, Balawath Bandaralage ChamaraYashoda Bandara, might have committed the murders yesterday (18). 

Hanwella Police is conducting further investigations.
