Information has been received allegedly regarding a much shorter route to visit the famous tourist location, World’s End in the Horton Plains National Park, from Balangoda through the Nonpareil Estate.

A tourist taking this route to reach the World’s End has to travel no more than two kilometers.

The residents of the area request the relevant authorities to officially maintain this route and provide tourists access to it, as a step to enhance the tourism industry in the country.

Reportedly, this route, established from Balangoda to the World’s End through the Nonpareil Estate, during the times when foreigners controlled the country’s estates, is still in operational condition.

Chairman of Imbulpe Pradeshiya Sabha and people from Balangoda, Belihuloya and Pambahinna areas have recently joined for an inspection of thesaid  route.

The Chairman stated that the Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province, Niluka Ekanayake has been informed to take actions to maintain the route under proper procedures as many people have already started using this route to reach the World’s End.
