Former Walapane PS Chairman sentenced to 12 years in prison

Former Chairman of the Walapane Pradeshiya Sabha Jagath Kumara Samarahewa and another individuals have been sentenced to a 12 years in prison by the Nuwara Eliya High Court.

This was regarding a case file by the Udupussellawa Police against them regarding the misuse of state vehicles in 2014 and possession of a firearm without proper license.

Forman PS Chairman Samarahewa is currently the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Organizer for Walapane electorate.

He was also fined an amount of Rs 11.5 million, as ordered by the court.
