Night mail trains to Batti and Trinco cancelled

The Railway Control Room says that the night mail trains from Colombo Fort to Batticaloa and Trincomalee scheduled to depart tonight have been cancelled.

This is due to the derailment of a train which had hit and killed three elephants at Habarana this morning (18).

Accordingly the night mail train from Colombo to Batticaloa which was scheduled to leave at 7.00pm and the train to Trincomalee which was to leave at 9.30pm as well as their returning journeys are cancelled.
