Director (Operations) of Anti-Corruption Movement Namal Kumara, who had revealed an alleged ‘assassination conspiracy’ in the country, arrived at the CID this morning (26).
The Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had yesterday (25) permitted the CID to direct Namal Kumara to the Government Analyst’s Department to record voice samples.
Accordingly, he will be presented to the Government Analyst’s Department this morning (26).
Namal Kumara recently revealed information of DIG Nalaka de Silva of the TID allegedly conspiring to assassinate the President and former Defense Secretary.
Accordingly, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has commenced investigations into the incident and recorded statements from several persons.
The recorded phone call between Nalaka Kumara and the DIG, which has gained a lot of attention in the investigation, has already been handed over to the Government Analyst’s Department.
The CID is slated to receive the reports on the recorded voice samples during next week and further investigations on the incident will then continue.
Meanwhile, an Indian national, an associate of Namal Kumara, has revealed that he was aware of a plot to kill the President Maithripala Sirisena, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his family members.
