Two arrested for aiding and abetting Tangalle shooting

Two individuals have been arrested by the officers of the Tangalle Division Crimes Investigation Unit, on suspicion of aiding and abetting and conspiring to commit murder.

The arrest was made at around 4.00 a.m. this morning (18) while the two suspects were hiding inside a house in Heenara, Weeraketiya.

One of the arrestees has been identified as a 40-year-old individual from Wigamuwa area in Ranna, while the other suspect is a 37-year-old man residing in Heenara, Weeraketiya.

The murder victim, who was the owner of a vehicle service centre in Netolpitiya area of Weliara police division, was shot dead on September 23 by two unidentified persons.

The Tangalle police had later arrested two suspects, under the alias ‘Baby’ and ‘Rana’, in connection with the murder.
