The Department for Registrations of Persons has requested the candidates sitting for the Advanced Level and Ordinary Level examinations this year to send in applications for their National Identity Cards (NIC) before the 31st of March.
Necessary measures have already been taken to issue the identity cards without delay, and the Head Monks of Piriven and principals of schools should heed the submission of relevant applications at the earliest possible, the department says.
Failing to send in the applications in due time will obstruct the issuance of identity cards prior to the commencement of A/L and O/L examinations, the department emphasized.
It was reported that a considerable number of applications that have already been submitted are filled out incorrectly.
Accordingly, the department calls for the candidates to comply with the given instructions while filling out the applications and to submit them as soon as possible.
