Representatives of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today met with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for a discussion on the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Parliament Complex while the JVP delegation was led by the party’s leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The 20th Amendment to the Constitution, which is being brought by the JVP, aims to fully abolish the Executive Presidency which was introduced in 1978.
The JVP has so far also held talks with Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) in order to draw their support to the 20A.
