Western Province Governor Azath Salley claims that swords were not recovered from any mosque except from the one at Slave Island, where 47 swords were seized.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday (16), he alleged the security forces had searched certain mosques for over five times.
The security forces should not cross the line when carrying out searches at mosques, he emphasized.
“Even when a sword was recovered from a well in the proximity of a mosque, they claimed it was found from a mosque,” he alleged.
Commenting further, he claimed that 10 containers filled with swords were imported to the country and no one had looked into what happened to the said stock of swords.
