Upul Tharanga arrives at Ministry to record statement

Former Sri Lanka Cricketer Upul Tharanga arrived at the Ministry of Sports at around 10.15 am this morning (01), stated Ada Derana reporter.
This was to record a statement regarding the match-fixing allegations made by former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage on the 2011 World Cup finals between Sri Lanka and India.
Accordingly, Upul Tharanga was summoned to the special unit for the investigation of sports-related offenses today.
Former cricket captain and the head of the cricket selection committee at the time of the alleged incident, Aravinda de Silva, also arrived at the Ministry yesterday (30). He left the Ministry following the recording of a statement for over 5 hours.
Aluthgamage had claimed that the playing squad for the finals match changed at the minute.
The special unit for the investigation of sports-related offenses recorded a statement on the claim from Aluthgamage as well.
