Covid-19: Minuwangoda cluster’s cases count tops 1,600

Seventeen more individuals linked to the Minuwangoda Covid-19 cluster tested positive for the virus today (14).
The Department of Government Information said 05 of them were reported from quarantine centres and the remaining 12 are close contacts of the Minuwangoda apparel factory employees.
Thereby, the total number of positive cases confirmed from the Minuwangoda cluster escalated to 1,608.
Following the latest development, confirmed novel coronavirus cases in Sri Lanka now stand at 5,055.
The Ministry of Health says 1,685 active cases are currently receiving treatment at several hospitals across the country.
Meanwhile, total recoveries reported in the island reached 3,357 this morning.
